BNP London organiser drunk at Council Ceremony?

Cllr Bob Bailey (centre)

Bob Bailey, the BNP’s London organiser and currently serving an 18 month ban on suspicion of drunk driving, is in trouble for his drinking again.

Andrew Gilligan reports:

Bob Bailey, the BNP’s London organiser and leader of the opposition on Barking council, was turned away last night from a ceremony conferring the freedom of the borough on the footballer Sir Trevor Brooking and the Royal Anglian Regiment. He had been due to speak at the event.
That much is common ground – but the reasons are heavily contested. The council’s ruling Labour group has issued a press release claiming that at the reception preceding the ceremony, Cllr Bailey was “worse for wear” and “under the influence.”
The deputy leader of the council, Robert Little, who was at the event, claimed Cllr Bailey was “clearly under the influence of alcohol and was in no fit state to deliver any speech. In all my time as a councillor I have never seen anyone behave in such a way,” he said. “It was embarrassing.”

Cllr Bailey denies the story.

Former Conservative MP Rahim Jaffer, who ran anti-drugs ads against the NDP in the last federal election, is facing charges for drunk driving and cocaine possession.

A good old fashioned Conservative except his views “are as ‘dangerous’ and the Conservative Party said they ‘do not reflect the views of the party in any way’.”

This is a good example of why people feel the Conservatives don’t speak for them.
The MP appears to be more guilty than the rapist & his light sentence.
It looks like the rapist’s friends faced no charges.

Yes mate. Same here. Very thin skinned.
They should try being a BNP member. We’re used to a little mild critisism. (This won’t get posted either).

BNP politicians could be drunk, stoned, pumped up to the eyeballs with elephant tranquilisers all while laying comatose in the street having wet their trousers and they’d still make more sense than Labour or the Conservatives.

Churchill spent most of ww2 drunk and his reputation has not suffered. I remember reading a decade ago, about the Tory politician found dead on his own kitchen table, dressed in stockings and suspenders, strangled or suffocated at his own hand after performing some weird act of sexual gratification.
Shock, horror… a BNP man is drunk.

So we don’t know the truth of this at all, do we?
No elected official should be drunk on “duty” though.

The name of this site is confusing and the whole lay out is way over the top.
You should of named it ‘Vote Conservative Not The BNP’ and just had a big banner that hypnotically flashes that message over and over in the hope someone will fall for it.

If NB are working on the theory that there is “nothing British” about politicians getting drunk, then the Tories, Labour and Liberals are all un-British.

Come on guys, is this the best that you can do? You really do not have to open a thread every day. Please wait until we have something to talk about.

    Hi. Jim and co.
I would like to bestow upon you my profuse thanks and undying gratitude.
    Yours is a wonderful site.
Where else can the BNP find such a wonderful talking shop.
Mind you, a bit of opposition might spice it up.
Don’t you know a few Tories who might contribute?

Once a person puts themselves in the public arena they have to expect to take flak. Drink, women, etc all are headline grabbers. So you have to be squeaky clean which to most of us plebs is hard to do. So what if the guy had a few bevvs, lucky him. Not a bad fault in a good man!
