What would Britain under the BNP look like?
Nothing British is launching next week an important new series of policy papers that answers that question analysing the BNP’s policy commitments and pledges.
It is not easy – their ideas are confused and contradictory. But it is very important.
Because it is no longer enough to oppose the BNP by just branding them obnoxious racist fascists. They are that, and we have a duty to remind people. But we have to face the fact that last year nearly 1m voters were sufficiently angry and frustrated with their bona fide grievances to hold their noses and vote BNP. So it is time to confront their ideas.
Those ideas, if they were ever to be enacted, would be a disaster for this country. Their policies are not just xenophobic; they are wrong and dangerous. There is a danger that, if unchallenged, these ideas leak into the mainstream (look what is happening in countries like Italy, Switzerland and Hungary where popular nationalism is poisoning politics.) So it is important that we don’t let their ideas spread.
It is worth remembering that many of the BNP’s policies would hit the vulnerable hardest. The BNP claims to be the one party to represent Britain’s white working class; it is difficult to see why they are so keen then to raise their taxes, increase their bills and put their jobs in danger.
Our economy and our society face massive issues which makes life miserable for hard-w0rking families: jobs for family bread-winners, hope for our kids, and fighting for our national values in a fast-changing world.
It is easy to blame anything that goes wrong on some shadowy villain, as the BNP do. It is easy to peddle cheap nostalgia, to promise the return to some false utopia that probably never existed. It is much harder to do the serious policy work of making choices, setting priorities and providing a positive agenda for the way forward.
Over the next few weeks, Nothing British will be looking at the choices the BNP would make, and the effects on the wider British society and economy. While the BNP is happy to throw out policy after policy with no costing or details of implementation, we will attempt to figure out just what exactly Britain under the BNP would look like.
The BNP would shut Britain away from the world, leave our public finances in shreds, and make us all much poorer.
It’s time someone called them to account.

What would Britain under the BNP look like?
Better than it does now thats for sure!
Hot debate. What do you think?

I am amused that the comments are closed on “Help us improve the site”!
Mind you I didn’t have any suggestions.
To be honest examining the BNP policies & pledges seems a bit pointless as you (the Conservatives) will be in power not the BNP & even your lot are bit coy about your plans until you open up the books & see what is there or not as the case maybe.
Let’s hope that Gordon doesn’t trash No 10 on his way out & cost us the price of new carpets etc.

WTF,
Do let us know if you’ve got suggestions – we’re intersted in users’ ideas.
All the best,
James.

I am interested in what constitutes “conspiracy theories” in the forum rules. Surely the theory that the Labour government conspired to create a multi-racial country without us knowing the full facts would have been a “conspiracy theory”? It is now admitted that they did so.
In my experience, a “conspiracy theory” is a theory not supported by those who name it such!

Maybe we can’t say NWO anymore?
One mans conspiracy theory is another mans hidden agenda?

I think one BNP policy that might find favour with the electorate is stopping most foreign aid especially while we seem so poor or in debt.
Also an absolute massacre of QUANGO’s would be welcome, maybe a few bankers swinging from lamp posts might be a crowd pleaser but I guess we best not stir up the mob, leave the public lynchings to Simon Cowell & the Ex factor or whatever the latest opium for the masses is.

Actually some sort of delete or edit function like the BNP site has might be good, there’s nothing more annoying than finding a typo after the posting or if repeat postings come up, deletion would be useful, though that has not been such a problem recently.
Also were you aware that sometimes the CAPTCHA code can be different, as in the visual doesn’t always match the audio version.
It is usually the audio version that is correct, so if the visual one is correctly entered it can be rejected if they don’t match up.
I think what is happening is that the audio gets one place out of step with the visual when it refreshes sometimes?
It just did it again!
