I say this as a former member of the party. They have sold their beliefs in the hope of getting votes and in the process have lost many, like mine. Core beliefs like Britishness, Defence and morals have gone down the tube. Do not get me wrong, I do not believe that the BNP will ever form a government. Some of their beliefs are (although they will not agree) are left wing and some right. Some I agree with and some I do not. That makes them more Centrist than the Tories and Socialists will agree. That said, the agreements between those two parties makes a mockery of the lef-right-centrist labelling nonsense. Like more and more voters I want my views heard. Those were mainly of the old Conservative Party (with which many "leftist" BNP supporters disagree) and which are voiced by the BNP. I want a major increase in defence expenditure, not the decrease expected by an incoming Tory government nor status quo. I do not want excuses. In the 80s the British Army was incapable of performing it's function in the Cold War. A simple fact. Many of our MBTs were in a similar state to those sent to France in 1939/40. Our "amphibious" vehicles were no longer such, due to defence cuts. Even then, we were in a better state than now. I want the ability to defend the Falklands, an ability now lost (many of our ships on the "active" list are actually in "ordinary" (incapable of immediate acivation). If the Tories actually have the guts to cock-a-snook at Europe and the world: stop spending our money on aid to countries who misuse it; build up our armed forces to the point where they can do their job; stop being governed by - a) the USA and - b) the undemocratic European dister; stop the legal shenanigans and throw out illegals and asylum chancers; let foreigners know that they are welcome to join and our community (numbers permitting) if they are willing to merge and become Britons; I might then return to the fold. There is no chance that the socialists of the Labour Party nor the ill fated union of the LibDems will meet my aspirations. That leaves the BNP. The fact that more and more of those that I meet now admit to voting or considering voting BNP shows how the two main parties have let the people down. I now challenge the owners of this site to say: When did you become Tory? Why did you become Tory? Do you agree that the Tory Party has moved left to a degree unthinkable by Churchill, Eden, MacMillan and Powell? If answers are given, be prepared for more questions. The BNP needs inspecting as do all political parties, but the problem that this site has is that it does the job rather badly. It seems to me as if NB tries to say that things that it thinks working class people believe, but without believing those things itself. I get that feeling when I read some of the posts - here they go again, dishing out their prolefeed, is the thought that goes through my mind. Back in 2003 I was involved in the now defunct Independent's discussion boards. A lot of BNP activists were around it as well and I enjoyed getting under their skins. I remember that I went around the Yahoo IDs that they used and linked to and was delighted to find that so many of them lived abroad. I was also taken with the blood and soil nicknames that they chose and all in all a good time was had by all. Well, by me, at least. The point is that when the dust had settled I found that I had more in common with the BNP brigade than I did with the bulk of the posters on that forum. The last time that I had a job with pension, holiday and sickness pay it ended in October 1981. All I was doing was providing entertainment for the bastards who had done well, by bum sucking the boss class, since 1979. I wasn't helping myself at all - I stayed with the casual work. The left is still stuck in lifestyle mode, producing policies that are of interest to middle class poofs, birds and blacks, but as presently constituted the parties offer nothing for people like me. The BNP offers the economic policies that I like, but it is the party of skinheads and blood and soil merchants. Come on, it was set of by John Tyndall - it says everything about British politics today that the party has entered the mainstream. What is needed is a party of the left that offers collectivist economic policies, coupled with social conservatism. Until that day arrives then the BNP will continue to grow.
