Durham Union Society have challenged the BNP to a debate
Durham’s Union Society, one of the world’s oldest student debating societies, have challenged Andrew Brons MEP and Chris Beverley to take part in a debate on multiculturalism.
The DUS motion is as follows: “This house believes in a multicultural Britain”. For the proposal will be Kulveer Ranger, an advisor to Boris Johnson, and Conservative MP Edward Leigh.
Arguing against will be Brons and Beverley, Brons’ chief of staff.
Last night, Nothing British spoke to an official from the anti-BNP UAF who confirmed they were against the decision of DUS to challenge the BNP.
UAF are reported elsewhere as saying:
“It defies belief. It is a huge error of judgement and they should think about their university’s reputation. It is outrageous.”
UAF’s decision to not to challenge the BNP in a debate is a pity.
Our views on the BNP being challenged in a debate are already well known. We support any democratic attempt to take the BNP’s revolting views on race and identity head on. We also believe other dubious areas need challenging such as their economic policy. Their attempts to hijack British identity and patriotism must also be stopped. The BNP need to hear these messages loud and clear. In a democratic society debate is the only suitable forum to achieve this.
For more information on Brons please read our briefing note here.

Left wing undergraduates… will this be a mass debate?

Is there such a thing as a right wing undergraduate? I would guess not. Any independent thought will have been obliterated long before university.

Open debate is good, I’d like to see Nick Griffin wipe the floor with David Cameron. He should be included in the Sky News debate, in fact Cameron and Brown should be asking Sky, telling Sky to get him on. Cameron and Brown are scared of open debate with Griffin. FACT. U-turn and Flip-flop can’t face the truth.

Sounds good to me, if you’re going to debate “This house believes in a multicultural Britain”, then you best get someone in who believes the opposite POV then, otherwise it is an exercise in back slapping & glad handling.
Whether the BNP rep’s get a chance to say much, we’ll see.
It could end up being a QT type lynching all over again.

The fact that there was this ” lynching ” reaction in the QT program actually worked to the advantage of the BNP. It really is proof that the chattering classes are getting nervous because they now can see that the ordinary British citizen has now caught on to the systematic destruction of all that we believe in.The powers that be are quite crafty, they can slip in laws that to all appearances are quite innocuous but really are only the tip of the spear. As I have said before, by their works you will know them, and just look at them now. Harridan seems preoccupied with sexual alignments for instance, rather than matters that really do affect the country. Now, why is that?

Quite right , Mr.Cousins ! We have some differences in political perspective , but I agree with your stated opposition to a “No Platform” policy.
I’d like to see the Conservative Party debate the leftists in the UAF.
Oh , wait a minute – Mr.Cameron supports the UAF , so there won’t be any such debate , will there ?
Mr.Cousins , what do YOU think of Mr.Cameron’s support of the UAF ? Would it be fair to say that the Conservative Party’s stance is NOT not an endorsement of the UAF ? Rather like the greatest Briitish man of all forming an alliance of convenience with Stalin ?
May I also respectfully enquire if is true that you live in a large house in a secluded region of Wiltshire ? If so , do you feel deprived that there are so few miltant Islamists and African refugees residing near you ?
Or,does that not worry you ?
Thank you

Go to Exile’s site, there’s something strange & African there that might appeal to a certain sort of Tory mindset.

That photograph doesn’t look like the Durham Union to me – I think that it’s a shot of University College, but I may be wrong. The DUS is on two sites, both very small. It was the pokey nature of the facilities that put me off Durham, actually.
Funny story for you all… I was yacking away on Skype to a computer geek last night. This guy is also a BNP member and we fell to talking about the universities. He reckoned that Durham is the party’s strongest university in England. I find this hard to believe because Durham takes its ethos from Oxbridge and is pretty laid back about all things. That said the guy was pretty certain that he was not spinning a yarn, and now you come up with this story which tends to confirm what was said.

WTF,
The debate will follow House of Commons’ rules and the chamber is laid out like the Commons only much smaller. A speaker can only refer to another member in the third person. Griffin, if he attends, will be familiar with it all from the Cambridge Union and he will be addressed as the honourable member from Downing College.
I hope it gets televised.

I hope so too.
Downing College eh?
Maybe that is what set him on the path to thinking he could get to Downing St?

Nicholas at 12.59pm above does not seem to have received a response from Mr Cousins, regarding David Cameron’s apparent support for the clawhammer terrorist gang, inappropriately known as the “Unite Against Fascism”.
Why would the leader of the ‘Conservative’ Party wish to be associated with a Socialist Worker Party front organisation? Surely, Cameron would not want to besmirch the good name (sic) of himself or his Party through ANY connection with an anti-democratic, communist body, such as the SWP (which is virulently anti-Israel and homophobic)?
Mr Cameron’s little gophers are always blathering on about the BNP being “left-wing”, yet their leader is quite happy getting into bed with a bunch of unwashed marxists! How strange.

“Last night, Nothing British spoke to an official from the anti-BNP UAF”
Was a telephone call required or do you share the same office ?
What is the official Conservative party stance on Cameron’s street thugs of the UAF ? I personally find it simply beyond belief that a possible future leader of this country would dare to be seen to be associated with such a group but I don’t let it bother me as, although Mr Cameron may fail to see it, I know it will come back to haunt him.
I have written and emailed on numerous occasions my local Conservative member, my local Conservative club, various other Conservatives and even Mr Cameron himself but I am yet to receive a single reply.
Perhaps you could be of assistance Mr Cousins ?

Well Jonathan can’t help as he isn’t in the Conservative party & my experiences of politicians in general is that they won’t answer off message questions that aren’t part of the PC agenda.
The idea that the UAF have officials is laughable, its like Osama being considered the general of his army.
They can’t answer my questions about why they won’t give the electorate what they want, then they ponder at great length why the BNP are gaining popularity.

Yes no two lies. Isn’t it odd that the supposedly right wing Tories would openly Allie themselves with an overtly Communist “organisation”?
That tells us that there is only one party the BNP must oppose. The Communist party. (It’s a pity they haven’t told the electorate).

Mr Cousins, you have now been asked to clarify the Conservative Party’s, and in particular David Cameron’s, stance on UAF several times.
For an article that talks of debate, free speech and ‘no platform’ the silence is becoming deafening if not embarrassing.

The UAF would be incapable of having a rational debate solely because they depend on negative influences, violence, boycott, malign gossip, sinister inuendo etc. Just look at our new che guevara lover in South America, Venezuala, he is now banning all press and tv opposition, and who is his chattering class buddy boy, yes, the one and only Ken.
