The BNP would censor soaps such as Eastenders and Coronation Street to encourage a higher morality. There would be a new clause-28 proscription against the promotion of racial integration in schools and the media. All staff at teacher training colleges will face “compulsory re-evaluation and retraining”. The Press Complaints Commission will replaced with a new BNP body (source: BNP manifesto 2005).
The BNP is keen to portray themselves as on the side of free speech, victims of government censorship. And to some extent, they are right. If the BNP want to indulge themselves in holocaust denial or racist bigotry, then we should not be afraid to let the British people see for themselves the vileness of their views.
However, after examining the BNP’s policies, the idea that they are on the side of free speech simply doesn’t ring true. On assumption of power, no doubt the BNP rightly suspect an avalanche of investigation and criticism by the media and those who would stand up for true British values. In order to protect their position and spread their ideas they already have a plan:
- The arts censored. The BNP would treat British adults like children, censoring popular television programmes such as Eastenders or Coronation Street, demanding they portray “slightly ‘higher’ than real-life behaviour.” Presumably this means no more crime, broken marriages or Dirty Den. Apart from sounding extravagantly boring, not only would this be grossly patronising to the British people, but it shows the BNP’s priorities. Rather than focus on and empathise with the problems in our society, they’d prefer we turned a blind eye.
- The press bullied. In their last manifesto, the BNP somewhat chillingly propose to “hold meetings with the proprietors” of all the meetings of the major newspapers in order to prevent them “printing lies.” The Press Complaints Commission is to be abolished, and a new criminal offence for the “deliberate dissemination of falsehoods” created.
- Children indoctrinated. Schools would become a vehicle to spread the BNP’s racial hate. Not only would they make it an offence to teach about racial harmony, but every trainee teacher would be evaluated, filtered and retrained to make sure they are pushing BNP values.

Would they?
In short I wouldn’t miss them.
I am not a fan of “soaps” generally speaking, Coronation St has changed a lot & Eastenders is quite hysterical at times.
I think children & some adults do end up thinking they should live their lives like a “soap” with constant drama & strife along with bad relationships with the wrong people & the odd murder thrown in for good measure.
I hope Big Brother, I am a Z list celebrity represented by Max Clifford in the News of the Screws disappears of its own accord sometime soon as well.

“hold meetings with the proprietors”
Isn’t that what Tony Blair did?
Hasn’t something similar happened with Dave Cameron & Rupert Murdoch, except that Dave was the tail & Rupert is the dog.
In that case the tail does not wag the dog?

Maybe BNP style Eastenders will feature a mosque & a sharia court just to be realistic to how the area is?
Along with hordes of hoodies firing sub machines guns at the punters coming out of the night club?
There needs to be more binge drinking in the Queen Vic as well & porn mags in the newsagents.

The press in this country is largely controlled by the very left wing national union of journalists who openly ordered its journalists to report the BNP in as negative a way as possible. Most of us know what can happen if you cross these commie union bully boys. It even set up a 24 hour hotline (0845 450 0864 ) for its journalists to call in the event they were in an ethical dilemma about how to report the BNP. Isnt a free press vital to democracy nb? are you part of the nuj maurice, john etc?
isn’t it already illegal to carry out “deliberate dissemination of falsehoods” under libel laws?

(Required -thanks for those links – I’m always looking for sites to find out more about what is really going on.)
Are they honestly trying to say that we don’t already live in a country where the children have been systematically indoctrinated?
At one time soaps were didactic ie the baddy always got his come-uppance. In fact, am I right in thinking that it used to be viewed as wrong to portray the idea that crime pays (in films and on the box)?
This site is really struggling to say bad things about good ideas!

I believe there was a code of conduct as well as the watershed at 21:00 but that idea has eroded away.

Taken from the link that reguired posted.
“Over decades Marxists posing as Conservatives have taken control of the leadership of the Conservative Party. Ken Clarke, Douglas Hurd, Michael Heseltine, Geoffrey Howe, Chris Pattern, Francis Maude, David Cameron to name a few.”
Says it all realy about the CONservatives.
And this as well:
“You notice in meetings how Cameron looks to Francis Maude, British signatory to the EU’s Maastricht Treaty in 1992, for direction, and appears to take orders from him. In typical communist style it seems Francis Maude is the real leader of the Conservative party- the Number two generally weilds the real power in Soviet circles.”
This country does need political reform and it should start by getting rid of the CONservatives, LIEbour, Lib DIMs and all the career politicians. The 3 so called main parties have nothing else to offer this country apart from more of the same.

Well they say they’re not members of the Conservative Party or ex public school boys, so maybe they know nothing about Common Purpose?
