UPDATE: Church of England rejects BNP understanding of the Bible

CofE_logo_belongingThe Church of England have been speaking to Nothing British about the BNP’s The Christian Council of Britain.

A spokesman for the C of E  who said: ” The Church of England does not share what appears in this case to be a very particular interpretation of the scriptures.”

“As the Archbishops of Canterbury and York said on 24 May, ‘Christians have been deeply disturbed by the conscious adoption by the BNP of the language of our faith when the effect of those policies is not to promote those values but  to foster fear and division within communities, especially between people of different faiths or racial background.’”

Typical! They are not deeply disturbed at the prospect of having their special status as state church removed. They are not deeply disturbed by the importation of large numbers of people who cannot be described as Christian. They are not deeply disturbed by moral relativism. They are not deeply disturbed by abortion or teenage pregnancies. All of those things would take a moral backbone to reverse and would open them up to ridicule and worse. But the only thing they are publically concerned about, is the one thing which everyone (the elite plus the media) will applaud them for being concerned about: the BNP. In my eyes that is evidence that they are less interested in righteousness and the truth and more interested in their PR image.

St John’s church Longsight was decommissioned in 1999. Neighbouring St Agnes now houses the ABANDONED church’s statue of St John the Evangelist in its nave. The key issue riling the BNP liars, is the desecration of the site.
A quick enquiry with the City Council reveals that St John’s Church is a Grade II listed building(listed 1974) which means that it is considered nationally important and of special interest. To make any changes to such a building requires the owner to apply for building consent.
planning permission for a 16 space car park in the church garden was granted early in 2007. In the intervening period, the owners have spent £50,000 repairing the building, which now houses Dar-ul-Ulum Qadria Jilania mosque and Islamic Centre. A photograph on the BNP website clearly shows that the graveyard has been carefully preserved.
It turns out that the graveyard has not been touched at all.
Yet more lies and falsehoods from the BNP (no surprise there)
The truth is, the redevelopment of graveyards is a fairly common occurrence in the United Kingdom. Rehoboth Baptist Church in Horsham, for example, has just completed construction of a seven space car park and garden of remembrance on its former graveyard. Planning permission to remove the headstones without disturbing the actual graves and to block pave part of the site was granted in 2005. The BNP, of course, will not be protesting about this car park on this graveyard.

  31. vor says:

The BNP wish to use the redevelopment of church buildings as ammunition against Britain’s Muslim population, but the facts do not support them(surprise surprise)
seventeen hundred Anglican churches have been made redundant since 1969, there are still over 48,500 churches of different denominations serving their communities nationwide. Moreover, over the same period, The Church of England opened more than 500 new churches, while continuing to maintain over 16,000 others. If, as some claim, there are now seventeen hundred mosques in the United Kingdom, this is still only 3.5% of the total number of churches in the country (interestingly the Muslim population of the UK is a similar proportion of the whole).

If Muslim worship appears to be more visible than that of the Christian, it could only be because the Muslim still views the Friday Prayer as England’s Christians viewed Sunday Worship one hundred years ago. Even a believer on the borders of his faith still feels duty bound to put on his Friday-best once a week. But it would be misleading to suggest that seventeen hundred mosques have sprung up in place of the seventeen hundred Church of England buildings closed over the past forty years, for Anglican churches have covenants conferred upon them which usually prevent them from being used by other faith communities. While BNP leader, Nick Griffin, has claimed that Church of England buildings are being turned into mosques, ‘up and down the country,’ it is actually rather hard to find any. It is true that Muslims have bought former churches — notably redundant Methodist chapels which seem to be in great supply.

So the BNP ranting about St John’s, Longsight, they completely ignore St George’s, Hulme, a Grade II listed building built in 1823 which has been converted into a place of residence, a mere two and a half miles away. But why should this surprise us when they also ignore the conversion of former churches into restaurants, gyms, pubs, nightclubs, shops and private apartments? St Luke’s in Heywood, Lancashire, located 14 miles from Manchester City centre, has been turned into a huge family home, featuring six double bedrooms. And for between £250,000 and £500,000 you too can own one with estate agents listing hundreds of former chapels, rectories and churches, already converted or waiting to be converted, with planning consent already obtained.

If the BNP were genuinely concerned about the loss of historic places of worship and the demise of their Christian heritage, they would say to their members, ‘Look, churches are closing all around us because we don’t use them. We need to start making Sunday special again.’ That task, however, would entail asking their followers to take personal responsibility for their lives: that only ten percent of British Christians regularly attend church cannot be blamed on the mainstream political parties, on multi-culturalism or political correctness. It certainly can’t be blamed on the Muslims

So there we have it, sensationalism that the national enquirer would be proud of. The BNP spins Bullshit excuses to satisfy its own requirements leaving scant regard for the actual facts of the matter. My friend a planning officer i worked with a few years ago on a refurb in manchester pointed me to the facts and a few articles ive summarised above.
I once saw a post on here from MLJ i think that said the only news he belives is the BNP website and it has videos too… Dissapointed in you MLJ your a bright lad drive to longsight the church and graves are still there as are the lies on the NP website.
Once again glad to be of service and to make sure the truth is brought to the fore….

Hello RjM .. I did a bit of digging into your desecrated christian graves statement(NO PUN INTENDED) The church is doing well, some would say far better than when the christians abandoned it 10yrs ago. Its now an islamic centre and has been restored in a manner appropriate to its listed building status. had a nice car park built and contrary to the BNP hype on its site and on you tube the headstones werent turned into a footpath by marauding islamists in a fashion similar to that in schindlers list. Sadly thanks to the retards who believe this sort of bollox islamic graves were desecrated in manchester in “revenge”

Er..it’s not a church anymore though…And actually the thing about The C.of E. is that it was got at by the cultural marxists many years ago. Destroyed from within like just about every institution in this country.

There is no marxist conspiracy ! People dont go to church because the church of england is inherantly weak. It has been watered down to the point it is insignificant. I dont know but wasnt it you who said that you were brought up c of e so that means you can do pretty much anything? Lots of people share the same view they go to church to be christened , married , and buried and nothing between. Catholics in Ireland go most sundays, American Christians are fervent followers of their faith. African christians are devout to the extreme. What your fighting is the English attitude, which means people would rather go to a gastro pub or on an all day drinking bender, than go and worship the lord.

  40. vor says:

If the muslims hadnt bought the church it would have deteriorated further and got to the point where it was structurally weak and would have been demolished as a safety concern. Councils are “pushing over” leaning headstones as they present a hazard, they are not going to hesitate pulling down several thousand tons of masonry hanging a hundred feet in the air are they? Then yet another fine building is lost forever. Well done those muslims for saving a piece of Englands architectural heritage. Ok its not a church as a place of worship but its still standing and hasnt been flattened and landscaped as many are. Still no condemnation of the people who descrated the muslim graves, or do you infact behind your veneer of respectability support the defiling of graves?

I can assure you Vor that the C of E I was brought up in has been destroyed by cultural marxism (or maybe you’d view it as “liberalism”) both ideologies destroy from within. That is why the Church is weak. I imagine that Islam would be similarly weakend by a liberalism which sought to give women equal and then superior rights to men and which encouraged excessive behaviour in places of worship and changed the accepted teachings of The Holy Book.
You attribute many posts to me that I haven’t made.
I don’t actually have a particular view on the destruction (or not) of gravestones because the C of E has already, in its infinite wisdom, destroyed many resting places by removing headstones (for ease of grass mowing) so if they don’t care why should I bother.
