Jack Straw to take on BNP on Question Time

Jack Straw will become the first politician to go head to head with Nick Griffin on BBC's Question Time
Jack Straw

A good choice. Jack Straw, the Justice Secretary, has been lined up by Gordon Brown to take on Nick Griffin on the BBC’s QT. On being asked how he felt about being selected to take on Griffin, Mr Straw said: “Wherever we have had BNP problems in my area and when we have fought them hard, we’ve pulled back and won the seats back.”

The Liberals are said to be lining up Chris Huhne as a possible contender, but the Conservatives remain tight lipped.

We believe that Jack Straw decision to go head to head with Nick Griffin is a positive step forward in the fight against the BNP. Conviction and debate are sure fire ways to win over voters.

BNP councillor has done nothing for local area

Paul Golding

There is a myth that BNP councillors make energetic community politicians. Evidence to the contrary comes from  BNP councillor Paul Golding who has done nothing for his ward (Swanley, Sevenoaks) since being elected in February, residents and councillors say.

Golding was voted in as the first BNP councillor for the Kent ward and was the first ever British National Party member to stand in the area.

However, a council spokesman said Cllr Golding has not joined any council committees and local residents say he has not been in touch with them since the election or championed their concerns to the council.

John Dudley, a Sevenoaks resident, said: “The only time I saw him was when he was canvassing – they really put the pressure on and were here every day.”

BNP legal director Lee Barnes calls Peter Tatchell a “paedo”

Lee Barnes

Lee Barnes, the BNP’s legal director and Richard Barnbrook’s representative at his recent hearing, has called Gay rights activist Peter Tatchell a paedophile after he called for the age of consent for homosexual sex to be lowered.

Barnes said that Tatchell and his “paedophile homosexual chums” are only asking for equal rights so they ”can get their hands on little kids”.

Not everybody may agree with lowering the age of consent, but to call Peter Tatchell  a paedophile should remind people how intolerable and crude the BNP truely are.
