BNP councillors may be barred from being school governors
BNP councillors could be barred from serving as school governors if a landmark case planned by a teaching union goes ahead.
The Nasuwt union is poised to spend up to £20,000 on a judicial review if BNP councillors are elected on to school governing bodies.
Generally speaking we’re sceptical about this sort of legal mugging. We believe that the BNP must be beaten by the power of our arguments, that it’s too late for platform-sharing-bans, and that legal restraints feed the electors belief that the Liberal Establishment is deliberately stifling the debate on issues many care about like immigration, Britishness and joblessness.
Nonetheless we must all live by the laws of the land and the unions may have a point in this instance. Section 71 of the act imposes a legal duty on governing bodies to carry out their duties with “due regard to the need to eliminate unlawful racial discrimination and promote equality of opportunity and good relations between persons of different racial groups”.
The BNP – to date – are a racist organisation. If they were to promote social cohesion then we would have no problem with BNP councillors being governors.

Helen Forster
Helen Forster, a member of the BNP, was sentenced to 11 months in prison for perverting the course of justice and common assault. She was also given an additional 9 months in jail for breaching a suspended sentence.
During the trial the court heard how she had encouraged a group of children to throw eggs and fire an airgun at the home of her Asian neighbour Meherjan Miah, who lives with her young children.
Forster, who was registered as a member of the BNP under the name Helen Colclough, featured in a BNP Operation Fightback video under the direction of Sevenoaks Councillor, Paul Golding.

BBC planned for BNP on Question Time two years ago
The BBC are using the BNP-QT debate to drive audiences, a former employee has implied.
James Macintyre, a former producer on BBC1’s Question Time, wrote in this week’s New Statesman: “My objection is that Question Time, unlike Newsnight or Today, where presenters could give Griffin a grilling on immigration, would provide a soft format for him to pontificate on a variety of issues of the day.”
With nearly 1m voters, two MEPs and 50+ councillors, the BNP have surely earned a right to be heard, however distasteful their views, and it is not up to producers like Macintyre to censor them off our national broadcaster simply because they disagree with them. Far better that there is a debate which exposes the BNP for what they are: nasty neo-fascist racists with a twisted, half-brained vision of the future for Britain.
