Live: BNP QT blog

21:16: Victory for Stolen Valour. Nothing British campaign is first question on QT. Most people who watch this will see that we were right: the BNP has no right to wrap itself in the honour of our veterans.

21:16: Sayeeda Warsi on News 24: Griffin had no views to give.

21:17: Huhne on News 24: He was held up for the views he is famous for

21:19: Huhne on News 24: “He is pretending to be something isn’t.”

21:21: Warsi: Griffin came across as the man he is. A bigot.”

21:22: He didn’t face a hostile audience or panel. He just held to account.

21:22: Supporters of BNP are not racist. They are victims of Labour and Conservative duopoly

21:24: The BNP hold out a prospectus of hate & fear

22:05: Sky News has a member of the audience saying, “Unfortunately, Griffin came across as more reasonable than the other panellists.”

22:08: Sky News: “It was a little one dimensional. And he didn’t get an opportunity to score cheap points. He has gained an enormous amount of publicity. The audience gave him more of a rough time than the politicians.”

22:35: Is it fair the BNP has hijacked Churchill?

Jack Straw: No. The Nazis, just like the BNP is based on race.

Jack Straw: We only won World War One and Two because of millions of black and Asian soldiers. They died fighting for us.

Nick Griffin: “Churchill would be in our party because no other party would have him. His views on Islam and immigration would mean the BNP would be the only party. My father was in the RAF, while Jack Straw’s was in prison for not fighting. (boos)” – Pathetic. Very: “my dad is better than yours.”

Nick Griffin is attacked by a member of the audience for having disgusting views.

Sayeeda Warsi: Any party that has the disgusting views of the BNP have nothing in common with Churchill.

Sayeeda Warsi uses our briefing on Collett.

Bonnie Greer: If I was a BNP member I would be scared on the membership rule change. What kind of a political party is based on an idea on an indigenous people.

Chris Huhne: “Nick Griffin is playing the same old game of peddling fear. One thing that Churchill was never is a fascist.” Quite good actually.

Griffin: I am the most loathed man in Britain by British Nazis.

Griffin denies himself appearing in films. Doesn’t deny sharing a platform with the KKK leader David Duke but says they are not violent.

Straw: “Griffin always wants to wriggle out his past”.

Griffin laughs very awkwardly.

22:54: “I can’t explain why I used to think those things.”

Griffin refuses to answer Holocaust questions. “I have changed my mind. But mainly on figures.”

Straw gets angry.

22:56: Why is Islam a wicked and vicious faith?

“Because it doesn’t fit in with the values on Britain.”

“I want to make a pact with Islam. Britain must remain a British and Christian country.”

Warsi: Does he despise Muslims or love them?

Warsi brings up his past with Gaddaffi, Khomeini and Farrakhan.

Warsi: “Mr Griffin is a thoroughly deceptive man”.

Griffin: I went to Libya to persuade Gaddaffi to stop funding the IRA.

Greer: There is a reason why Griffin doesn’t talk about Romans, because everybody was a citizen.

22:03: Is the rise of the BNP down to the governments policy on immigration?

Straw: “No.” Unbelieveable, Straw brings up Powell! Stick to your govenments role in the immigration debate.

Straw: “Of course there is a worry. But net immigration has fallen.”

Answer the question Jack!

Dimbleby: “Answer the question!”

Warsi: You are not being honest on immigration. Real issues around poverty, social deprivation and immigration have caused the rise of the BNP.

Warsi: “Lots of people who vote BNP are not racist” (Large round of applause)

Warsi: “Britain should not draw up the bridge. Britain deserves the best and brightest people.”

Well done Sayeeda. Excellent points.

Huhne: “Lib Dems are the only party that can tackle the BNP.” (What a joke)

Warsi remains stateswomanly like and does chip in on Griffin. Unlike Huhne, Greer and Straw.

Griffin: “We are the Aborignes.”

Warsi: “Do you know the definition of genocide? Mr Griffin, how appaling you use that term in that way.”

Griffin laughs very awkwardly at his 2:2 from Cambridge.

23:19: Gentleman calls Griffin a “dick”.

23:20: Griffin cites the YouGov poll from June 2009.

Warsi picks him up on aslum seekers.

Warsi and gentleman in audience pick up on Straw’s remarks on immigration. Field is cited.

Warsi to Straw “You are in denial” about immigration.

Lousy debate on immigration. Warsi only one to hold Griffin and STraw to task.

22:26: Should the Daily Mail have published Steven Gately article?

Greer: Yes, but it was wrong.

Huhne: Yes, but I don’t approve of it.

Dimbleby picks up Warsi’s remarks in 2005 on homosexuals.

Warsi: Journalists need to take responsibility.

Griffin: “I am against the promotion of sex. I believe in the freedom of the press.”

Audience shout out about Griffin’s homophobia.

Straw: Daily Mail article was odious, but I support the Mail’s right to freedom of press.

Griffin laughs awkwardly.

23:53: Has QT been a Christmas present for the BNP?

Huhne: Clearly it has. I don’t want the broadcaster to decide who can and can not come on tv.

Warsi: No. I think the audience and public are repulsed by Griffin’s values. I am glad it happened.

Griffin is shaking and looks awkward. Won’t answer.

Straw: A catastophic week for the BNP.

“Griffin is a fantasising conspiracy theorist”.

Democracy lives! Griffin has not done as well as some thought.

Its regrettable but my whole family has been forced by economic reasons to join the BNP. Their English/ British world has been stolen from them by incessant legal and illegal immigration. Where is Sir Winston Churchill, Admiral Lord Nelson and Iceni Warrior Queen Boudicca? My heritage, language and culture has been trodden into the feces by Brown and the labor party. The Conservatives are not that better. Bring on the British National Party. This would have been the last political organization, I would have accepted. This is insane and now our little island has been compromised by the demagogue Diplomats in Brussels.

I think where our political elite are concerned, he who is without sin can throw the first stone.
But most of them by rights should be buried at the bottom of a quarry when their pasts are analysed.

They didn’t intend it but the other panellists reminded me of a game we used to play as kids, asking teachers confused questions that required them first to break down each part of the question and explain how we were using words wrongly or contradictorily. Sir, if the world is round then surely there’s no up or down and therefore no such thing as gravity? Just as the poor man began to stutter out his answer someone else would ask another stupid question. Chris Huhne insisting that what Griffin meant by ‘indigenous’ was ‘colour’ is an example. Where do you start when the guy can’t understand a fairly common word like ‘indigenous’ and seems to confuse race with colour and, presumably, the English people with all white people? Practically every question levelled at Griffin relating to race or ethnicity was similarly inane. The funniest of the night came from a girl in the audience who explained that humans originate in Africa so ‘we’re all ethnic minorities, really.’ What CAN this mean? Griffin just smiled at her and Dimbleby moved onto the next product of Franz Boas’s mischief.

That was the funniest challenge to Griffin but Griffin himself delivered the funniest moment, silencing Jack Straw by exposing his father’s war record. Straw had just finished his revisionist history of WWII – apparently it was all about defeating racism and no right thinking person then or now would stand idly by while evil like Hitler’s or Griffin’s threatened us all. Griffin pointed out that his own father, who has been accused of racism in the newspapers this week, fought against Germany while Straw’s father refused to do so and sat out the war in prison. Straw was utterly unable to reply, and Dimbleby shamelessly intervened and asked Griffin what relevance that had. If it wasn’t relevant Dimbleby should have told Straw that when he began his lecture about fighting Nazis.

(following 10:20) Greer’s asking Griffin to define the English is a similar kind of thing. What the heck was he supposed to say? The English are a Germanic people, the dominant nation of the British Isles and one of the major nations of Europe. The great majority of the English are descended from early Celtic and Iberian peoples and the later invaders of the islands, including the Romans, Saxons, Danes, and Normans… ? [that from One Europe, Many Nations: A Historical Dictionary of European National Groups.

It was Griffin’s best moment when he raised his voice and pointed out that people like Greer and Straw only use this idiotic argument against white peoples. No-one pretends not to know who the Maoris, Zulus or Jews are, or if they exist as distinct groups at all. And no-one insists that Maoris or Zulus or Jews define themselves to everyone’s satisfaction to forestall an assault on their common goods and homeland. It’s remarkable that with Griffin being so frequently accused of racism and before such a hostile audience, the only time a specific accusation of racism received applause from the audience was when Griffin levelled it here at his aggressors and their crackpot – and racist – ‘logic’. If he’d not been so inclined to play nicely he could have scored a few more hits like that.

I though Warsi was doing a much better job than usual until she delivered a spectacular bombshell: ‘there are no bogus asylum seekers.’ That’s what you get, Tories, when you promote double digit IQs to prominent roles merely because they aren’t white.

She delivered her fair share of confused pronouncements on other issues, too. The familiar line about Commonwealth soldiers serving bravely in WWII so that all of us today can enjoy our limitless freedoms was one.

It isn’t difficult to figure out that the generation of Asians and Africans that fought the Axis powers fought for their own nations (ie. peoples), not for some ideal of universal brotherhood. Immediately WWII was over these same paragons of anti-racism busily began booting the white man out of their countries! Quite reasonably they wanted their countries for themselves.

Aaaah the standard they fought for themselves . so smart arse why did they come and fight in the 1st world war when independance wasnt even on the table then. 1.5 million indians volunteered and heres a little cut and paste from the longman companion to the first world war( a reputable and recognised reference book)
With regards to Africa, the figure of 55,000 refers to soldiers who saw combat; the number of Africans involved as auxiliaries or otherwise is likely to include several hundred thousand. Troops were drawn from Nigeria, Gambia, Rhodesia/Zimbabwe, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Nyasaland/Malawi, Kenya and the Gold Coast. Figures for South Africa are given separately. In the Caribbean, the British West Indies regiment drew men from across the region, including Barbados, Bahamas, Honduras, Grenada, Guyana, Leeward Islands, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and Trinidad and Tobago; the bulk came from Jamaica.
if you think reference books are part of a marxist conspiracy then try the commonwealth war graves commission.

You Sir are a tool of the highest order. In the first week of the poppy appeal where we rightly remember those who gave their lives for us, have the gall to attempt to belittle their sacrifice to justify your own beliefs about race and colour. Putrid Rancid man SHAME ON YOU.
I bet you have the gall to buy a poppy aswell you snivelling shit.
