BNP councillor, last seen in June
The BNP claim to offer something different to regular voters. They claim their councillors work hard for local people and local issues.
Yet, once again, the party has let down the people it has promised to serve as Nuneaton BNP councillor, Darren Haywood, has stood down after not showing up to council meetings for nearly 6 months.
Haywood has cited ‘job commitments’ as the reason why he has quit the role a little over a year after he was elected. But the real reason seems to be that he hasn’t attended council for so long, he was close to being sacked.
An inside source from the Nuneaton council told NothingBritish about how the Warwickshire town is feeling.
“The people of Nuneaton are angry. They feel abandoned by the BNP. Haywood just hasn’t performed. The BNP promise to be different but Haywood hasn’t been seen in a council meeting since June.”
The by-election is due early December and will be hotly contested by the BNP, the controlling Conservatives and the opposing Labour group.
Andrew Burtenshaw, chair of Nuneaton Conservatives said: “The people of Camp Hill have been let down by a faceless BNP councillor. Up and down the country, BNP councillors have a shocking record of failing to deliver for the residents that they serve.”

And…? We have a government headed by an unelected PM who is increasing the national debt by thousands of pounds per second. We are ruled by the shameless and the shameful and a BNP local councillor, who was no doubt bullied out of office, is newsworthy?

sign of the times.
If you look at the commons its empty most of the time.
If i was given the honour of representing the people my arse would be welded to the bench as would most peoples. We are hurtling towards american style govenment with its sound bites and focus groups. good news though you can wrap your chips in it tomorrow. Oh they dont do that anymore do they ? just hygenic imported recycled plain white paper ….. sigh

A record should be published on the net of all councillors who miss meetings then voters can see the lazy ones and not vote them back in

It sounds like good news that this guy has resigned. It may be that he underestimated the work of a councillor.
It’s possible also that the environment at the Town Hall was needlessly and childishly hostile to a BNP councillor. We’ve seen reports in the nespapers of other parties refusing to speak to BNP councillors and to share resources and information. This sorta proves the establishment parties’ are lying when they talk about democracy and racial tolerance. A party is voted in that happens to be made up of White people – and they consider its presence an affront to whatever it is they quite clearly value more than either democracy or racial tolerance (I tend to think that many councillor’s ultimate interest is social status and money).

i concur. we also are being propelled towards the same styled celebrity politics. This is where the PC brigade found their voice; amongst a group of self-styled, self righteous, meally mouthed sycophants.

i’m in a hamlet 200 miles south west of sydney, population 250.
none of the people i asked in the pub had any say over our immigration policy: most would vote for a BNP style party if they had the choice.
most of these blokes were shearers and farmers, and none of them can understand why our country is being overrun by third world foreigners.
wake up you pommie ditherers: you are losing your fine country

Some points:
-any councillor who consistently misses meetings should be sacked, whatever party, it’s wholly indefencible to miss 6 months of meeting’s
-why again are there apologists on this site talking of him being ‘bullied’ out of office. How ridiculous. Aren’t you BNP supporters meant to be the ‘only party to stand up for Britain’. If so, surely you could stand up for yourselves???
-Time and again BNP officials who have lied to the electorate pandering to (and generating) fear with glib platitudes about how they will solve all problems (including those they’ve made up) with wide ranging non-sensical hypocritical policies (when you consider their Law and Order policy vs the convictions of pretty much all their leadership). Why, when they get elected do these vile individuals not bother to turn up to council meetings or behave as those in the following articles have behaved?

There’s a lot of things wrong with this country – including the current government – any vote for the BNP should top the list of terrible things happening in this country today.

No, you’re wrong. The worst thing that is happening in this country is that we are losing our democratic voice and our freedom. Don’t allow yourself to be deluded by the liberal elite. If they get rid of the BNP they won’t stop there. It will be UKIP next who Dave has already denounced as “nutters, fruitcakes and closet ******” and who are being bled dry in court for a clerical error.
I doubt that the BNP will ever form a government but our future depends on them being allowed to try.
Also, look into the backgrounds of other politicians. You won’t find anything very pretty there.

Who was it that said it takes about fifty years for the English to get around to doing what they need to do? I’d say time’s about up…

Relief… it was H.G. Wells:
In England we have come to rely upon a comfortable time-lag of fifty years or a century intervening between the perception that something ought to be done and a serious attempt to do it.
Isn’t it awful when you can’t remember summat?

I think if any councillor can’t be bothered to show up for 6 months then they should be replaced.
Now did he claim any expenses?
That would really be the icing on the cake.
Meanwhile over at “Liars, buggers & thieves” I am sure you can find plenty of Conservative, Labour & Liberals councillors doing what they shouldn’t!

I think it was an orange actually, I was told that you bite into it as you suffocate & it brings you round, citric acid & all that.
There was a bin liner involved as well, maybe to make clearing up easier, if it all goes horribly wrong as it did.
& to think he was considered a future PM, geez we dodged a bullet there!

When a banker jumps or a “normal” politician for that matter, they have a golden parachute, when all they’re worth is a golden shower, but they might enjoy that though……..

I am watching Question time!!
I have never laughed so much since del boy fell through the bar. Nick Griffin is the best his party can muster as a leader. I think the councillor probably didnt turn up because of the large words used in council meetings and the complicated forms used. oh and btw anyone remember the bnp candidate charged with statutory rape for getting a FOURTEEN yr old girl driunk and having sex with her…. I do hope he castrated himself as required by the BNP manifesto

I am not after any questions about unlocking an Iphone, which I am sure it was addressed many times before. I am interested to know if, with the same Iphone, someone could travel in different european countries using the official provider for that specific country. Otherwise the only option would be roaming which I am sure it is very costly and not very convenient on a long term basis.
