He got bent over and shafted in front of the nation… Twitching , shaking hands , mumbling his excuses. At least Hitler could make a speech.
Griffin with his twitches and spasms under pressure couldnt make a cuppa

To be honest I don’t know where the 5 million votes thing comes from, I guess we will see if that pans out at the General Election shortly.
He got shafted & he knew it would be like that, a bear pit with hostility outside as well as in.
I did like the bit about Jack Straw’s Father, Straw by name & by nature?
You can argue that old Jack has been a bit anti Islamic in his time as well.

BTW does anyone know how long the actual programme is?
I went to HIGNFY & that is about 2 hours edited down to 30/40 mins.
    Was this edited?

Yeah he did shut straw up with that one. TBH i think it is always the right of someone to be a pacifist and not fight. The Bevan boys got some stick at home for not fighting but they performed a valuable role. People who dont have the heart or the inclination to push cold steel into the enemy can always do something else.
Its election time WTF and his constitiuency has a decent proportion of Muslims, so i guess what we saw was electioneering to a degree.

It is unfair that the Bevan boys got stick as I believe they were drawn by lottery.
If the Straw man was in prison then that is not just pacifism it suggests sedition or something similar.
You can be a “conchie” & still do your bit.
I am no friend of Islam but I am vehemently against the whole Iraq/Afghanistan mess & God forbid yet more interference in Iran.
Israel I have very mixed views on.

Yes Jack has to win votes but I wonder if he’ll get enough this time.

That was one of the most remarkable and deplorable moments I’ve seen on TV. A perfectly reasonable question and instead of Dimbleby putting it to the panel, a professional immigration hustler intervened and ‘answered’ for them… Only it wasn’t an answer, it was an evasion. We were encouraged to think of what nice and hard-working people the potential immigrants/ asylum seekers are and how they might suffer as a result of any moves to make British society a society, ie. to look out for one another and stop privileging the stranger over our neighbour. Pure propaganda.

    “bnp looking type in audience”

The funny thing is, if a BNP type wrote similarly about some other group you’d create a post about nasty neo-nazi stereotyping.

I guess when the membership criteria changes maybe that stereotype will change too?
