Wednesday press – Nick Griffin in Wooton Bassett

Nick Griffin joins crowds of mourners

Most of this morning’s papers are covering the story about NG attending yesterday’s repatriation ceremony at Wootton Bassett.

As highlighted in Nothing British’s Stolen Valour report, the BNP are deliberately targeting the military and using emotionally charged occaisions such as this and Remembrance Sunday (expect more today) to score cheap political points off the other mainstream parties.

These repatriation ceremonies are about the dead soldiers who have lost their lives fighting to protect the freedom we enjoy at home. They are a time for unity and patriotic pride in the sacrifice of our fallen heroes. But NG’s presence introduces an element of division and nationalism.

Simon Weston, a veteran of the Falklands War, told Nothing British yesterday: “This is a blatant attempt by Nick Griffin to try and get cheap publicity out of an incredibly solemn event. He shouldn’t be allowed to hijack such a sad occasion. Legally he may be allowed to attend but morally he shouldn’t be there.”

Besides the propaganda coup, the neo-fascist BNP hopes that by exploiting the exceptional heroism of our Armed Forces it will hide the fact it is a party mired in corruption, criminality and extremism.

It is utterly shameful for NG to intrude on the grief of service personnel’s families and those wishing to pay their respects from Wooton Bassett to dead soldiers returning from Afghanistan after fighting Islamist aggression. All the other parties have stayed away.

James Bethell, Director of Nothing British, says: “Armed Service personnel who cannot speak for themselves are enraged at this man’s attempts to make political capital out of military families grief. Nothing British calls on Nick Griffin to cease and desist from this cynical game of politics.”

since when have politicians not attempted to cynically use events to promote their own ends. Why should Griffin be singled out. At least he is a relatively straight shooter and people know what he stands for. At least he is patriotic enough to stand up for his country and oppose mass migration.

Just like the BNP show up late and claim they cared all along… We honour those who die in Afghanistan, unless they happen to be a Rai or a Gurung of the Ghurka Rifles in which case we would deport their family before the ink is dry on their death certificate. Hypocrite of the highest order.

Not true, remember it was a Labour government who were denying rights to Ghurka’s etc & had to be fought.

AA, very true. Griffin is a politician and nearly all of them cynically look for ways to thrust themselves into the limelight. I wonder if the AFL will ever turn up and pay their respects? I don’t really.

VOR, as far as I am aware, Griffin supports the Gurkhas. I believe that Remembrance should be for all those who suffered in wars, not just our own (although they naturally are closer to our hearts). In my regimental association branch we had a German soldier who, in the same speciality, had been fighting against our British members over Primasole Bridge in Sicily. Some of the banter was brilliant. When he died, we gave him the same honours as we would a British soldier. That is how it should be.

ARMYBNP, it would be better for all if we moderated our language and discussed things sensibly.

what a tosh website? what right have these people got to say there`s nothing british about the BNP when over a million people have voted for the BNP in European elections? Now that LIEbour and the left have admitted they deliberately set out on an unecceassary wave of immigration solely in the vain hope of build up a base of new Labour votes and in the process giving away millions of British jobs to cheap foreign workers to make themselves rich!-betraying their former voting base who created them in the first place!the working classes! These smug people Collins,Weston ,McKnab and the Conservatives should put more effort into exposing how Labour (who have always hated the armed forces)is letting down our boys fighting abroad through penny penching and lack of proper equipment!or is atttacking the legitimate BNP away of diverting attention away from their own failings?

What a complete stuck-up snob you are.

    Your point is?

How many degrees do you think the average soldier killed has?

Or the average working class voter – the majority of voters, by the way?

Could it be that money and class prevents the education of the masses? Or has it been consistent government policy / failings?

And look at all the great thing the fine ‘education’ of these muppets has brought us all…

there are many intelligent people who dont have degrees and who work in what is deemed dead end jobs; that is called lack of opportunity. Just as there are many people with degrees , who completely lack common sense. Decades of British policy makers , complicit in the waves of mass migration that have engulfed your fine green land, fall into that category!

Jonny my point is if you are looking for a leader you require them to have the ability to speak from a position of authority, you also need them to be dedicated, comitted, able to work relentlessly with focus and determination towards whatever goal that may be. A degree is nothing but a piece of paper but it illustrates the persons ability to knuckle down and work towards the task in hand. Dick griffin isnt capable of that, as his results indicate.
AA you are absolutely right. IQ or academic proficiency arent the be all and end all. Emotional intelligence is equally if not more important towards success.
Thats why as you correctly state you find a lot of people with degrees in dead end low skill jobs or you find someone who isnt as bright as you, is your boss.
Im sure a lot of soldiers are capable of getting degrees they simply direct their focus valiantly towards the forces. I know many serving and Ex forces people from a Commando to a high ranking officer, all of them way smarter than Barmy bnp, who when faced with an arguement he cant win, resorts to threats and petty schoolyard insults.”Vor,Brown, cameron and clegg, are dickheads,it sounds as if you fancy the three of them, god you are one creep”/”Nothing British gangsters, are going to rue the day they messed with the bnp”

Why? Not really it makes perfect sense as youll notice by some of the posts from bnp supporters their membership would compromise their ability to perform their duties in a reasonable and impartial manner. Its not so much an issue with teachers for example as the curriculum is quite strict in what you are rtequired to teach, Therefore a bnp member/supporter would be unable to teach their warped and inaccurate view of the world.
