I bought shares in RBS many years ago at approx £3.50 i held onto them and kept buying more as the time went by. I sold my shares just after the purchase of ABN Amro when RBS unsuccesfully tried to sell its insurance business (Direct line/Churchill/etc) because i realised this was akin to selling the family silver and realised something was afoot. So i sold the lot at £20.19. The collapse happened a month or so later and the share price fell to around 30 pence, so i bought over a hundred times as many shares as i had in the first place and are hanging onto them for the next boom.
My shares are safe because the nice taxpayer has made sure that banks never go under no matter what.
Boom and bust is an engineered cycle and i am an engineer, so i know how it works. Do you think the Super rich and the financially savvy lost money ? I didnt, Sir Fred Goodwin didnt either, nor did the boys in the striped shirts in the city.

Sam, the Falklands have always been British; ever since the first settlers in the 1830s. Previously , they were uninhabited.
Any Argentinian claim, comes from Spanish claims to the islands, BEFORE Argentina got its independence.
