BNP move brings market politics ban

Banned

All parties were banned after BNP announced they would campaign at Colchester market

Colchester Council have made a mistake by banning the BNP from their town’s market.

All parties registered with the Electoral Commission are to be banned from holding stalls at a Colchester market in a move to stop the neo-fascist BNP from using it as a platform to promote its policies.

Simon Darby, Deputy Leader of the BNP, accused the council of “liberal fascism” and said the ban would be counterproductive. Over on his blog Darby says his words would be difficult for the local “politburo”.

Unfortunately, Simon Darby is right.  With no suggestion of a civil disorder problem, Colchester Borough Council should not ban the BNP from taking part in an informal but important part of the democratic process. The BNP have a mandate of 1,000,000 votes. They have two MEP’s and over fifty councillors. They’re, in short, a nasty fact of life.

Politicians like those in Colchester play into the hands of extremists if they try to legislate against parties like the BNP. It re-inforces their image as “persecuted victims”. Deptriving voters of their legitimate right to access to political political opinions of all shades, however distasteful, and drives them into the hands of populist extremists.

BNP teacher case suspended after riot fears

BNP Teacher Adam Walker

The case of Adam Walker, the BNP teacher, is taking far too long.

A disciplinary hearing against Durham BNP teacher Adam Walker, who criticised Muslims, homosexuals and asylum-seekers on a school computer in 2007, has been suspended after police feared riots in Birmingham.

Walker, a former soldier, karate expert and president of Solidarity, the BNP’s “astro-turf” trade union, was due to face the General Teaching Council (GTC) in Birmingham today, but police decided to take the intervention after they were made aware of tensions between violent ultra-nationalist activists and local extremist Muslims.

The council were due to decide if Walker should be struck off the register after he was alleged to have used a school computer to contribute racist and religiously intolerant views to online discussions during lessons. If found guilty he will be the first teacher to be banned for religious intolerance.

Nothing British is 100% sympathetic to the Police’s concerns about civil disorder, but this important legal process should not be held up by intimidation.

BNP Legal Director: “Zionist Capitalist buys Conservative Party”

Lee Barnes: The Holocaust was not the product of ‘evil’ Germans, it was a product of ... the actions of Jewish Bolsheviks

Lee Barnes: Tories in pocket of Israel

Lee Barnes, legal director of the BNP, has crudely called Conservative Party leader David Cameron an “old whore” and says the party is in the pocket of Israel after news has emerged over the weekend about the hedge fund manager Alan Howard, who is Jewish, donating money to the party.

We believe, if proof were needed, this is yet another example of the BNP’s crazy conspirtorial politics and anti-Semitism.
