James Bethell in the Observer

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

James Bethell, director of Nothing British, has appeared in last weekend’s Observer regarding our campaign against Kristina Morvai and her invitation to an extremist rally being held by the Palestinian Return Centre.

A spokesman for the campaign confirmed that Morvai’s invitation had been withdrawn following protests. “We did not want to get into trouble, so we decided to exclude her,” he said. “We want the conference to be about raising awareness about Palestine.”

“I am pleased to hear the PRC have withdrawn their invitation to Jobbik’s Krisztina Morvai,” said James Bethell, the director of Nothing British, a group that campaigns against the BNP. “She is one of Europe’s leading neo-fascists, a senior member of Nick Griffin’s political alliance and an MEP for a revolting party.”

Labour MP drops out of extremist rally

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

Nothing British has learnt from Neil Gerrard MP’s office that he will not be attending the Palestinian Return Centre’s December rally.

NB was told that Mr Gerrard decided to reject the PRC’s invitation on the basis of the substantial evidence that shows how Kristina Morvai was invited to the pro-Hamas conference in London on December 16th.

Last week, Jenny Tonge informed the Jewish Chronicle that she still intends to go to rally because she believes: “Ms Morvai is not attending the conference. I understand the invitation was never issued formally.”

We continue to urge Lady Tonge to reject this invitation and for the PRC to come clean over Ms Morvai’s invite to its event.

BNP to form new party with Jobbik and Le Pen

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

A new pan-European party calling itself the Alliance of European National Movements, an alliance of neo-fascist political parties, will be launched in the European parliament this Thursday.

The alliance headed by Griffin’s BNP, Morvai’s Jobbik and Le Pen’s Front National was unable to muster the minimum membership of seven member states which is required to form a pan-European party under EU funding rules.

It currently has members from six countries, including the UK, France, Belgium, Italy, Hungary and Austria.

According to the official journal of the EU parliament, the group will be formally announced at a news conference in parliament on Thursday.

Nick Griffin, who will attend the event, said, “We missed the deadline this year but still intend to form a Europe-wide alliance of like-minded parties. We have support from six member states which is still one short of the number required but there is nothing to stop us still establishing a party.

“The party can still make an impact even if we will not benefit from EU funding.”

Its members, who also include France’s National Front, have agreed to abide by a declaration of common goals drafted by the national socialist leader.

The coalition has pledged to oppose “supranational bodies like the EU which seek to limit the rights of individual countries”.

NG said each of the parties will submit a representative to a presidency body that will coordinate decisions. The presidency will then elect a chief, leading to speculation over a role for Griffin.
